It’s a joy to be able to bring these beautiful postcards back to life, courtesy of The Peter & Dawn Cope Collection at Mary Evan’s Picture Library.
Rene Cloke (1904-1995) was a British illustrator who produced a stunning collection of artwork over her lifetime. Her delightful illustrations often featured fairies and fairytales and her artwork graced the covers of children's books, greetings cards and postcards.
This series of fairyland postcards was originally published in the 1930s. We are delighted to have licensed these images ninety years later.
