About the artist…
Margaret Tempest (1892-1982) was born in Suffolk. She lived most of her life in Ipswich before graduating from Westminster School Of Art in 1914. She was co-founder of the Chelsea Illustrators Club through which former students exhibited and sold their art.
From 1929 until the 1960s she illustrated the Little Gret Rabbit books, as well as other popular children's books. Her adorable little anthropomorphic bunnies and mice have warmed the hearts of generations, through prints, books and postcards.
